After hearing Elvis Presley's 'Jailhouse Rock' as a kid, I knew I wanted to become a guitarist. I went to the local music school, but was dissapointed when teachers wouldn't teach me the music I was interested in.
I wanted to learn all about music, so I went to the conservatorium. After performing over two thousand concerts, I went back to my original motivation to study music, and decided to become the guitar teacher I would have wanted when I was starting out.
I try to help every student in a way that's best suited to them, while digging into the extensive knowledge I've gathered during the years.
I am a firm believer of in-person classes, as music is a practice that is best enjoyed in company.
I am currently involved in three professional musical projects: Jazz Deco, inspired by Django Reinhardt, brings swing classics from American, French, and Dutch traditions to life with the energy of a full ensemble.
Coming soon: I’m excited to announce my new trio, featuring an unconventional lineup of drums, electric guitar, and clarinet. Inspired by ECM jazz and artists like Bill Frisell, we’re creating fresh, original tunes that I can’t wait to share with you soon.
And last but not least I am continuously working on my solo acoustic guitar project.
I've done over 2000 live performances
I've performed in more than 10 different countries
Conservatory degrees. I've got a bachelor and a masters degree in Jazz Performance from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
I've helped over 200 students reach their musical goals
